„Ich glaube, Mozart hilft da überhaupt nicht.“ Aber welche Musik hilft bei Hypochondrie oder akuter Melancholie? Und was passiert, wenn jemand die Patientenakten durcheinanderbringt? KiEw passiert.

KiEw – das ist handgemachter Electro-Industrial mit abgefahrenen Sounds, Beats und Vocals, die nicht nur aus einer Maschine kommen. Die Musiker Matthias Kulcke, Stephan Thiemicke und Martin Mälzer um Frontmann und „Meister des Wahnsinns“ Andreas Thedens nutzen vor allem cineastische Voicesamples, um ihren in der Tat wahnsinnigen und teilweise dadaistischen Lyrics den Feinschliff zu geben. Verzerrte Stimmen und avantgardistische Geräusche gehören ebenso zu einem KiEw-Konzert wie fein geregelte Klangstrukturen und exzessive, grenzüberschreitende Instrumente-Soli. Dabei bedient KiEw nicht nur ein Musikgenre, sondern durchbricht die Grenzen zu Techno, Breakcore und Noise.

Die Live-Performance ist einzigartig: Ein verrückter Patient lässt das Publikum an der auditiven Therapie seiner mentalen Bewusstseinsstörungen teilhaben und bezieht es in jede noch so absurde und schizophrene Wahrnehmung mit ein. Dramatisch inszeniert wird der Zuschauer alsbald zum Teilhaber der audiovisuell erfahrenen Emotionen und beginnt, den Übergang in die KiEw-Hemisphäre scheinbar willenlos anzutreten. Dabei führen „Feierabend in Kiew“, „Graograman“, „dcdisk“, „Nachtwache“, „Tunnel“ oder „Käferfrühstück“ die Playlists der Szene-Djs an und füllen fortwährend die Dancefloors einschlägiger Clubs.
