Anna Gudny Gudmundsdottir completed her soloist´s examination at Reykjavík College of Music. She continued her studies in London at the Guildhall School of Music, where she received her Post Graduate diploma. Among her teachers was Gordon Back. Anna has worked in Iceland since and stands as one of the country´s most sought after performers. She has appeared as a soloist a.o. with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and worked with different groups (a.o. the Reykjavík Chamber Orchestra), ensembles and singers. Her performances with various artists can be heard on around 30 CDs. Anna Gudny Gudmundsdottir taught at the Iceland Academy of the Arts´ music department from its foundation in 2001 until 2005 when she was appointed pianist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Anna Guðný received the Iceland Music Award 2009 as performer of the year.
