Other Day (D)

In 1995 Sad (vocals) and D’eep (Keyboard, unfortunately no actual band member) founded a band which they soon named OTHER DAY. Together with their friend Mike B. they intended to create something far from the ordinary bands, so “OTHER DAY” became a synonym for another way of thinking and feeling.

Although the name of the band implicates the opposite, most of Sad’s lyrics are written in German. Besides the acoustic impression Sad’s extraordinary appearance also causes a lasting visual impression. It’s an aim of the band to transport the audience into another world by a detailed and fanciful appearance of stage and musicians. Since 2007 the band has been supported by the cellist Niha-Céta. The use of this instrument increases the effect of OTHER DAY’s music.

Besides countless concerts in clubs OTHER DAY also performed at bigger music festivals like Castle Party (Poland; 2003, 2011), Nostalgia (Netherlands; 2008), Summer Darkness (Netherlands; 2009) and the famous Wave-Gotik-Treffen (Germany; 1997, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2008). Moreover the band was nominated for the German Rock- and Popmusic-price in Kassel and got 5th place in 1998. As a result OTHER DAY had the chance for different tours with bands like L’ame Immortelle, Noisex, The Escape, Gods Army and performances as support for Alien Sex Fiend and Clan of Xymox.

In more than 17 years OTHER DAY released one live DVD and numerous CDs, most recently the album „zeitenduft“ (July 2011). The band also was a part of many samplers, for example Nachtschwärmer, Xtrax-, Zillo-, WGT-sampler, Schattentanz, Astan, Twilight Sounds and Angels Delight.

In 2008 two members of OTHER DAY opened new ways of performance: because the music of the band was accepted by a bigger audience than expected, they started a cooperation with Liaison Céleste, two aerial artists. Yvonne Notzon and Jennifer McNamara show an artistic performance while Sad und Niha-Céta support them with live performed music. In the same year they also started to support a punk-ska-band called Ostsibirische Schnarchschnecken with violin and cello.

All in all OTHER DAY don’t try to lead people to the dancefloor. Instead of this their music has to be played at home from where they lead their audience to another world.

Nach weiteren Auftritten, u.a. beim 7. Wave Gotik Treffen und den "Herbstnächten" in Roßlau, und sehr guten Kritiken, veröffentlichten Other Day 1998 ihre Debüt-CD "Fatum".
